Object Renumbering Tool For Navision 2009
Back in the end of 2014 I published a renumbering tool for NAV objects. Using DotNet I was able to increase the renumbering speed for text object files dramatically.
Hi, I have found two tools to run renumbering objects: - Compare/Renumbering Tool from 1996 placed in 165 object range - I think it is part of official Navision tools - Renumber Objects & Fields - I have it in 99000 object range - so I am guessing that it is partner solution But there are two issues: - Neither of them is up-to-date (supporting Pages) - Second tool is super-extra slow (I am renumbering TXT file of 175MB containing over 8,000 objects of which over 4,000 are changing ID) - it reached 25% after 20 hours (while first one finished same process in 10 min). So the questions are: Is there any never version of Compare/Renumbering Tool than W12.50 (report 102150)? (since this is much faster solution I would prefer to stick to this one) Or maybe some partner updates/corrections? Some other tools you can recommend? But once again - my renumbering is probably a bitt too much for this little one Considering the fact that no output file has been created after over an hour of running it - I understand that it loads everything into memory and than do some replacements.
Reporting Tool For Navision
Like I said earlier my TXT file is 175MB - so playing with this in memory is not very wise idea. Not mentioning the fact that in mapping file I had Table0000 But in command prompt I saw something like: Table 12345 renumbered 000000000 Well - anyway - I think I will just improve old Navision solution as the code looks quite simple with an open architecture allowing to add new object types.
Note Do not use the field numbers 99,000–99,999 in tables numbered between 1 and 49,999 for fields that you create, even though they lie in the customer design area. Craig newhouse decorah iowa. The training material for Microsoft Dynamics NAV uses these numbers. When a Microsoft Certified Partner buys the insert permissions for a table number interval, such as 200,000–200,099, the partner also gets insert permissions for the same number interval (200,000–200,099) for fields in all other tables.
If you create a table in the range for which you have insert permissions, then it is possible to create fields in all field number intervals in the table. However, we recommend that you use only the field numbers that are in the same number interval as the table number interval so that fields in solutions from different partners do not interfere with each other. When you assign numbers to new fields in a table, consider whether the table is associated with other related tables. If so, then you may need to also add the fields to these related tables. In this case, the field must have the same field number in all tables. For example, if you add a new field to the Customer table but do not add the field to the Vendor table, then you still must reserve that field number in the Vendor table for the new field from the Customer table. It is easier to maintain the application when the tables look very similar.
