Ok so im hoping some one has any knowledge on these units. I just got my elmscan iso and I am running into a couple of problems.
I installed the drivers/software ok but I seem to keep get this error message Found ELM interface on COM4! Failed to open OBD II connection! Error 104:Error detecting OBD II protocol. Im guessing that means its ok on the PC end and theres something going wrong on the Car end. At first I thought it was vista being stupid but it didn't work on my XP laptop either.
Iso Usb Mac
I have the COM ports matched up right and i have the baud rate to 9600. Has anyone else ran into this problem? Any help would be great. Chasing 11.0 almost there booooosted.on street tires lol brake boosting is like CRACK psssssst. Have you tried all the various USB ports? I ran into an issue sometimes when I was running the ElmScan on one port and the MAFterburner on the other where if I disconnected the ElmScan from COM4 (the first port), the MAFterburner wouldn't connect on COM5 (the second). However, the ElmScan would work fine on COM4 without the MAFterburner connected on COM5.
Maybe it's a USB chain order thing that is somehow associated with the serial adapter driver? What brand of USB-serial adapter are you using, anyway? I remember reading about some not working so well.
My laptop(Asus eeebook x205ta) comes with a program called 'Back Tracker Recovery Management', which allows you to make a bootable recovery USB stick, from which you can boot to recover the computer to its original state. Now i have made a Bootable USB with this backup. Now i wanted to convert this USB Bootable to an ISO image which i can store it in my External Hard drive somewhere instead of a USB stick and in case of problems i will convert the ISO back into a bootable USB.
Please help me with the clear steps. Thanks in advance.

Go to and get it from there. No adware and all the adware choice are automatically not chosen for the install. And you can save the download file and run it once a month or as often as you like to make sure the programs you choose are up to date. (it downloads, installs/updates the programs that you choose) You can remove AdWare from Advanced Installation radio button while Installing. I just installed ImgBurn and before it even got to the advanced installation, my AV blocked a setup program it tried to spawn with more AdWare. It appears that ImgBurn works well, but the installer is very suspect.
